James Kigar, a teacher with over 20 years of experience, initially started with the Ashtanga practice back in the 80’s. Years later he began teaching a hybrid form of this practice to allow for safe access to its benefits. Over the years, both his practice and teaching has evolved to include mindfulness and meditation practices. His current intention of both his teaching and personal practice is to promote a deeper understanding of the physical in order to support more subtle movements towards inner stillness and peace. James’ hands on approach to teaching allows for the student to align properly and connect to the practice on a deeper level.
Justin Leibman came to yoga after working as a top sales representative in the high stress industry of finance. Like many others who have found themselves drawn to this ancient practice, Justin’s passion for yoga ignited most when he began to study yogic philosophy. After four years of dedicated practice, he took the leap to become a teacher and leave the corporate world. Justin’s primary interest is in inversions and arm balances, both because they are challenging and also require a focus mind that creates internal stillness. Justin’s teachings reach beyond the physical aspects of yoga, and has a strong passion for the subtle ones such as meditation and pranayama. He is a devoted student of yogic philosophy, and continues to see himself as a student, as he travels the world to gain more knowledge for his students. Justin is certified twice at the 200 hour level, has done trainings and workshops with his teachers Danielle Rama and Irene Pappas, and more recently completed another 200 hour with Vikasa. Justin will be travelling to Thailand later this year to do another month long training.
